    A leap into the past!
    By lippatrice
A large-format himitsu bako (Japanese wooden box) with a magnificent traditional yosegi (wooden frame) on top and walnut wood underneath. This piece looks like it came straight out of the 1950s, with the yosegi ichimatsu having a vintage feel. Even the paper of the inner cardboard box isn't white but beige, reminiscent of paper yellowed by time! A true homage and a leap into the past!
The box works perfectly and smoothly, as usual. Thank you, Hiroyuki, for this contemporary piece with an old-fashioned design.

Thank you very much for the wonderful review! It had been a long time since I last made a 6-sun puzzle box. I do not expect to make many of them in the future, so I decided to offer it as a limited piece. Until you pointed it out, I hadn’t realized that this style could be seen as a classic, traditional one. After seeing the photos you shared, I felt the same way. That is a perspective that only someone who has seen many Japanese puzzle boxes could have. It was a truly insightful and thoughtful comment, Thank you very much!
