Another limited edition

Today is the first day of October, and it was unusual—it rained from the morning and kept falling all day. The air was full of humidity 😂, but I worked on parts of the process that are not too affected by it. At the moment, I’m making two boxes: 4-sun 27-steps puzzle boxes and 4-sun 10-steps drawer boxes.

Today I attached the top and bottom panels of the drawer boxes. Since these parts use plywood, they are less influenced by the outside humidity (though not completely). In the photo, you can see three of the drawer boxes I’m making with designs that combine different natural woods.
Most of this batch is for store orders, but I plan to keep a small number for my own stock as well. They are not traditional yosegi, but this is the first time I’ve made this style with drawers, so it’s fun. Of course, I’m also making the usual zebrawood types.

Today I prepared the boards for the yosegi sheets that will be used on the 5-sun drawer boxes I’m planning to make soon. Most of these boxes will be solid-wood style pieces ordered by overseas shops. For the side panels of these boxes, I’ll be using nyatoh wood. Since I don’t currently have good nyatoh stock in the workshop, I’ve ordered some and am waiting for it to arrive.
If it looks like that will take more time, I may make another round of 4-sun 27-steps puzzle boxes before starting on the 5-sun drawer boxes. Yes, another batch!..haha🤣 But these 4-sun 27-steps puzzle boxes also include orders from overseas shops, and since I’m used to making them in succession, I think it’s a good idea. I’m also considering adding some new design elements and turning these into a kind of “limited edition (202510)” for this month.
